Lonsberry wrote a column today against the tea party, outright fabricating things like us asking for money and/or trying to anoint ourselves as some type of new political leader… I left him a comment on his site, but since it doesn’t seem to have appeared, I figured I’d post it here so as to not be silenced for calling him out on his BS.
Bob, I’m one of the organizers from the March 11 tea party. We didn’t ask for money, we simply wanted to send the message that government needs to stop growing with like minded individuals. It was a single issue event stating that the government has been economically oppressive and that we aren’t going to stand for it becoming more tyrannical. I paid nobody, I asked nothing from anybody, people that I’ve never met before showed up to send that message. A few of us gave speeches, nobody declared themselves to be tea czar.
As for someone trying to lead a movement, to get people to send them money, etc. How about that FUBO campaign Bob? Seems as though you’re accusing us exactly of what you yourself are guilty of. We didn’t ask for your support and maybe that’s the problem. We didn’t elect you to be our leader and we did something on our own, completely grassroots style.
I’ve been listening since you started on WHAM… I stopped listening when you were gone. But if you’re going to lie about us, well, maybe it’s time to stop listening again.
Oh, and, thanks, btw… after all, when the tea party story was up on the local news websites, everyone said we were told to do it by the “crazy right wing extremists on the radio.” Now maybe they’ll take our word that we aren’t simply your puppets.

Lonsberry outright lied about us. Erik, NoSocialism and a12iggymom were at the “We Surround Them” meet-up. They never asked for donations, never. Erik passed out flyers and when the mike was being passed around, NoSocialism invited the folks at the gathering to join us on April 15. Erik did approach Lonsberry to hand him a flyer and ask him to speak on April 15 and that’s all Lonsberry had to do was say no. Instead, he goes off on this lying tirade, trying to ruin the efforts of conservative grassroots volunteers.
That’s right, Lonsberry, we’re all volunteers and we’re paying the expenses out of our own pockets!
My comment was also removed from his blog. Here’s what I posted:

Lonsberry,
I’m helping in the organization of the April 15 Rochester Tax Day Tea Party and after the way you treated my friends, WE DON’T WANT YOU!
In other cities across America, local conservative talk show hosts were happy to team up with grassroots conservatives. Not you though, because you’re a phony.
The folks from RochesterWatch who helped you with the POPNY Rallies told us all about how you screwed them over. Read about it here folks:
RochesterWatch discussion on Lonsberry
We don’t need you nor do we want to be associated with a phony like you!
So much for respecting the First Amendment on his blog!

Today on his blog, lonsberry(dot)com, Bob Lonsberry bashed the American Tea Party effort and the Glenn Beck movement(in a less direct manner).
Bob Said,
“That’s why I’m not supporting the tea parties.
That’s why I won’t endorse any of these groups.
That’s why I’m not putting them on my shows or sending people to their websites.
Because I don’t trust anybody who volunteers to be my leader. ”
He also says there were 4times the signed up members at the
Glenn Beck event in Rochester.
He’s just sore because he tried to take that event over and nobody took his lead.
Read his insulting post at the site mentioned above.
He’s using his bully pulpit to bash, tell lies and make
false accusations about a small group of Patriots who are volunteering their time & energy.
The truth about it is this:
The Rochester Tea Party group has NEVR asked anyone for a dime.
The Glenn Beck ‘we surround them’ Rochester, NY website had 173 ppl signed up before the event the other day. That’s about how many showed up at the place we had it.
Bob Lonsberry showed up.
A lot of the same ppl involved w/the Glenn Beck project in Rochester are also involved in the Tea Party’s.
We were given the microphone at the Rochester GB gathering and were able to ask folks there to combine efforts and attend the April 15th Tax Day Tea Party demonstration.
5 Minutes later Bob L. get’s the mic and says our next move should be to protest the local chapter of the Republican Party in 2 weeks.
And that we should all listen to his radio show for updates (on HIS demonstration).
One of our members was handing out info. and ‘suggested talking points’.
The reason for talking points is listed on the Tea Party site and is to help
folks ‘stay on message’ if they are confronted by news people at one of the demonstrations.
It’s easy to get nervous but, the Talking points(TPs) are not a mantra!
They are only to be used if you choose to.
The left has been using TPs for ever, they won the election w/them…..
Fight fire w/fire. We must organize and let our #s be seen.

Lonsberry is a joke, hypocrite, and a liar! He tries to portray himself as a person of the people. Talk is cheap, try to get him to join a function or take a real stand.
He spouts false religious messages. The scripture says “Thou shall not bear fale witness” yet he falsely reported that Mayor Duffy was taking a private jet to Albany. If he says he was mistaken it shows a lack of checking facts and reflects on his caliber as a reporter.
There is also a “Golden Rule” yet listen to how Boob talks to his callers. I’ve been subject to his tirades over nothing. He also likes to make some snide point and have you cut disconnected! Then he’ll say “What have you got to say about that?” Silence. “Yeah, I thought so.” All the whiloe you’re yelling at a dead phone line. Common arrogant Bob tell the Audience you use that dirty trick!
By keeping Loonsberry and dumping Bill Lowe, WHAM is in the Enquirer market!

Charlie,
Bill Lowe is a good guy and I miss listening to him during my morning commute to work.
In cities across America, local talk show hosts are trying to help the grassroot conservatives rally people in their area, and the Tea Parties are proving to be a good vehicle to do it. So what does Lonsberry do, misrepresent us, downright lies and maligns us on his show and blog. Great friggin’ guy isn’t he!

Bob Lonsberry is a fraud — married 3 times, excommunicated by his church. He gives religious conservatives a bad name with his childish FUBO campaign.
Turn Bob off and don’t spend a dime on his sponsors.
