Continuing today on the subject of Journolist, one of the people targeted was Fred Barnes who is the executive editor of the Weekly Standard and a commentator on Fox News Channel. From theDaily Caller:
In one instance, Spencer Ackerman of the Washington Independent urged his colleagues to deflect attention from Obama’s relationship with Wright by [...]

From Landed Gentry to an Unmarked Grave

July 2nd, 2010 · 2 Comments

By Howard Roarke
Ed Offley is a writer for several websites, notably Soldiers For The Truth, a site he helped found with Col. David Hackworth, plus he’s done work for Stars&Stripes and other forms of print media. When I first read this, it reminded me of a quote from Thomas Jefferson’s Declaration of Independence:
—And for the [...]

Obama Appoints the Man He Chastised to be Commander in Afghanistan

June 24th, 2010 · 2 Comments

As was expected, Obama accepted General Stanley McChrystal’s resignation. In a surprising move, Obama appointed General David Petraeus to fill the position of Commander of the Afghanistan operation.
Flash back to September 2007, during the Senate confirmation hearings on the Surge in Iraq, when Obama beat up on the same General David Petraeus. Just as [...]

Once Upon A Time In Afghanistan…

June 17th, 2010 · 1 Comment

I came across this interesting article by Mohammad Qayoumi in Foreign Policy online, yesterday. It’s a photo essay of how life used to be in Afghanistan’s capital, Kabul, in the 1950’s. I posted and excerpt of the article and I suggest you go to the Foreign Policy online to read the entire article. I didn’t [...]

Ahmadinejad’s Hypocrisy

June 15th, 2010 · No Comments

By rochester_veteran
The Miami Herald had a spot-on editorial about Iranian President Ahmadinejad’s hypocrisy concerning his denunciation of the deaths in Israel’s raid on the Gaza flotilla.
Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad is using the Gaza flotilla episode to distract attention from the anniversary of his rigged reelection — and from a fourth round of U.N. sanctions passed [...]

Obama’s Diplomatic Record Pales Compared to Bush’s

June 11th, 2010 · No Comments

By rochester_veteran
The Washington Post had an illuminating editorial published last evening. Titled “Obama’s diplomatic flop“, it points out Obama’ diplomatic failure concerning the sanctions on Iran.
During the campaign, then-Sen. Barack Obama made light of what he saw as his predecessor-to-be’s lack of diplomatic skill. As Wednesday’s U.N. Security Council vote on sanctions over Iran’s nuclear [...]

Obama Photographed with Abbas but Not with Netanyahu

June 10th, 2010 · 2 Comments

By rochester_veteran
I was first made aware of this yesterday. While watching FOX News last evening, Charles Krauthammer commented on how Obama was photographed with Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas, but when he met with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu this past March, Obama wouldn’t allow photographs to be taken.

Gateway Pundit picked up on this and reported [...]

Repost: America is neither racist nor imperialistic

May 11th, 2010 · 1 Comment

This commentary by Edward Bernard Glick, originally was published in The Oregonian. He is a professor emeritus of political science at Temple University in Philadelphia.
We all have heard from the lefty “history according to Howard Zinn” crowd in this country and from other countries, that America is a racist and imperialist country. Although mistakes [...]

Give Me Liberty, or Give Me Death!

March 15th, 2010 · No Comments

No man thinks more highly than I do of the patriotism, as well as abilities, of the very worthy gentlemen who have just addressed the House. But different men often see the same subject in different lights; and, therefore, I hope that it will not be thought disrespectful to those gentlemen, if, entertaining as I [...]

What’s Happening in Greece Could Happen in the US

March 1st, 2010 · No Comments

By rochester_veteran
Mark Steyn had an excellent commentary in the Washington Times this past Friday (2/26/2009) comparing the tenuous situation in Greece, where they’re on the verge of defaulting on their loans and going bankrupt, and the situation here in the US. We could end up in the same boat unless we get our entitlement situation [...]
