Charlie Eames passed away this past Sunday, November 1, 2009. He was one of the leaders of the Rochester Tea Party Movement, that includes RochesterConservative, RochesterWatch, North Shore Journal, the Campaign for Liberty and We Surround Rochester.
Charlie was there from the beginning and was one of our speakers at the “Commando” Rochester Tea Party, on that cold and blustery day back on March 11, 2009.

Charlie also spoke at the historic Tax Day Rochester Tea Party and had this to say about his experience:

You think you were impressed!! Imagine this. You’ve tried to get rallies, marches, petitions, ANYTHING to fix your home state. Nobody shows, you get mocked, laughed at, rejected, and scorned when all you want is a place you can afford and be proud of. I’ll try one more time! The day arrives. You’ve spoken to crowds before of 50 – 70. You get there and the crowd starts to grow and grow. Your turn comes and you step up to the mike, facing a solid wall of faces!
What have I gotten myself into? I don’t know if I can do this. I know if I hold back I will fail!
The amplifier’s too small for the crowd so I’ll compensate. (Been hoarse ever since) I start the opening before the welcome and the response is immediate!
WE ARE ALL ON THE SAME SIDE! WE LOVE OUR COUNTRY AND WE CARE!
WHAT A RUSH!!!
Here’s a video that shows the beginning of Charlie’s speech:
Charlie also made the trip to the “March on Albany”, where we joined with Tea Party groups from across New York State, at the Capital steps, to express our displeasure with our disfunctional state government. Here’s my favorite picture of Charlie, taken at the “March On Albany”:

On July 3, 2009, we held the Rochester Independence Day Tea Party at Ontario Beach Park, on Lake Ontario. Charlie spoke there, as well:

Charlie Eames not only spoke at the three Rochester Tea Parties, he contributed in the planning of them and we tapped on his vast experience as a freedom activist in Rochester for ideas. He was a Veteran and Patriot, Husband and Father and above all, a true friend to many and he will be sorely missed.
Charlie’s funeral is today (11/4/2009) and many of us who stood with Charlie at the Tea Parties, will be there to honor his memory. Please keep him and his family in your prayers.
