Have you noticed something different going on in the skies around Rochester yesterday and today? How about those unfamiliar looking aircraft and the sound of F-16C fighter jets screaming through the skies above your workplace and neighborhoods. That’s because it’s time for the ESL Rochester International Air Show! This Saturday and Sunday, July 26 and 27, 2008, the skies above Rochester will be active with flight demonstration teams, including:

Tim Weber and his AE10

Ed Hamill and his Air Force Reserve Dream Machine

I just saw the Canadian Harvards arrive!

The ever fabulous USAF Thunderbirds!!!

There’s many more attractions and alot of static displays as well.Tickets are $12.50 ($15.00 at the gate) for adults and $6.50 ($8.00 at the gate) for children. More information including directions, schedules and ticket information can be found on the Air Show website, click on the link below:

I LOVE the air shows. I used to work at a place almost next door to the Guard, right alongside the airport. It was located in the area that is normally closed off to the general public.
The owners of the company would always arrange with the Sheriff’s department to allow employees in to the closed off area because we all had to “work” on the days of the shows!
Work equated to picnicing on the back lawn with the family and friends!

I love air shows too!
The last time I went, they had an A-10 “Warthog” demonstration. The crew that performed was from the same squadron that my neighbor’s son is a Crew Chief in. We got to get up real close and my neighbors younger son even got to sit in the cockpit!
BTW, the C-5 landed a little while ago. It’s so huge and it looks like it’s floating!
The Canadian Harvards are practicing now.

When my son was in the Sea Cadets he had the honor of “guarding” a blue angel. We got to go in the VIP tent, it was cool. But that is when he decided he didn’t want to be a pilot.. I know kinda backwards, up til then he wanted to be a pilot and officer after meeting the Blue Angels he saw what jerks they were to the enlisted guys and decided that wasn’t for him, he is a family of blue collar (enlisted) and that wouldn’t work for him.
I love the air show tho, hoping to talk the hubby into it…
