LR, I do disagree with you on this, but I do respect your opinion. As in the past with discussions about Sarah Palin, we're going to have to "agree to disagree" on the subject. :-)

I don't see foreign relations and it isn't much different then any other governor. I am not saying she isn't accomplished, I am just saying I don't believe she is presidential material. And I don't think she handles herself well enough. I believe STRONGLY that she is not savy enough to handle the middle east talks and other foreign relations at this point.

That said I think hillary is under used. Tremendously.

IF Palin surrounded herself with the right people, maybe I could see VP but not in 2012

Also what foreign relations and commander in chief of the National Guard? Come on, that is like saying Gov Magoo is more qualified then Obama….

"Palin spent eight years in city government, winning a seat on the Wasilla City Council in 1992 mostly thanks to her opposition to tax increases. She went on to serve two council terms from 1992 to 1996. She was elected mayor of the fast-growing Anchorage suburb in 1996 and again in 1999. Mayor Palin had a record of reducing property tax levels, increasing municipal services and attracting new industry to her town. During her tenure in Wassilla, she was elected chair of Alaska's conference of mayors."

"Sarah Palin served as chair of the Alaska Conservation Committee, a board which regulates the state's oil and gas industry. In this appointive position she began to gain what would become extensive and valuable knowledge and experience in the area of one of America's most pressing issues - energy."

"Gov. Palin signed a resolution in opposition to the FAA's plan to increase taxes on aviation fuel, impose user fees and slash airport funding."

"Before Palin became governor, her predecessor Frank Murkowski had purchsed a Westwind Two business jet for the governor's use at a $2.5 million price tag, despite the objections from the state legislature and the public. Her first order of business after taking office was to put the jet up for sale. She used her line-item veto to cut $268 million from Alaska's state budget."

"She also addressed healthcare costs and formed the Alaska Health Strategies Planning Council to find innovative solutions to effectively provide access to, and help reduce the costs of healthcare."

"Gov. Sarah Palin of Alaska presided over what she called "one of the most historic and exciting events" in Alaska since statehood when she signed a bill that could clear the way for a massive natural gas pipeline. Standing in a hotel ballroom in Anchorage, flanked by labor leaders, nurses, electricians, and other union members, Palin inked legislation to spur what analysts say could be the largest private capital project in U.S. history—the construction of a new pipeline to carry natural gas from Alaska's resource-rich North Slope to the rest of the country." Gov. Palin had to negotiate with Canada for their approval, in order to run the pipeline through their country.

Here's a link to Sarah's work as Commander-in-Chief of the Alaska National Guard:

I don't doubt that stepping down was right, but now she should run for senate or something, continue public office.

Also what foreign relations and commander in chief of the National Guard? Come on, that is like saying Gov Magoo is more qualified then Obama..... after all we can see Canada from here.

I don't think she can defeat anyone or anything and if anything she is dividing us, not bringing us together. She can speak to people but I am not ready to vote for her.

Of course they looked the other way with Obama, had he been conservative he would never have been treated nicely, it is politics and race, not sex. and lets face it, neither were or are ready for that office.

Hopefully we have someone better soon, but Palin will only serve to make sure Obama is elected again.

Also now that she is not serving as a public servant, how in the world will she prepare for the office of the President of the USA? I think unless and until she serves in public office and gets more experience not only in service, but overseas issues, communication and how to conduct herself she will not be ready.

She's far more prepared politically than Zero is. Sarah Palin accomplished quite a bit in her political career, which included foreign relations with other countries. She was also commander-in-chief of the Alaska National Guard. I could go on and on, but you get my drift. While the MSM put her under the microscope, they looked the other way concerning anything negative about Obama.

Sarah Palin did the right thing in stepping down as governor, as the "ethics" law suits that the lefties were "formulating" against her had already cost the state $5 million in legal fees. BTW, none of the law suits were considered of merit by the courts and dismissed.

What other conservative is there, besides Sarah Palin, that would be able to defeat the radical socialist in 2012? It'll be interesting to see who else steps up into the limelight.

RV you are correct BUT it is to be expected and whining about it will not change it it will only make it worse.

I don't believe it is sexism that motivates their treatment of Palin, I believe it is their disagreement with conservatives. This would have been true for ANY conservative.

As a conservative woman I expect different treatment, I expect that I will have to prove myself more, know more, conduct myself in an unreproachable way. I expect that what I do will be examined much deeper then if I were Nancy or Hillary or Louise.

Also this is to be expected of any Christian so it shouldn't be surprising and if anything should be welcomed. The chance to prove better and prove them wrong.

That said I am not saying it is fair.

Also now that she is not serving as a public servant, how in the world will she prepare for the office of the President of the USA? For that matter I have "potential" to be the president/

LR,

There's absolutely no doubt in my mind that Sarah Palin has been treated so badly because she's a beautiful, strong, conservative woman who's worked her ass off to get where she's at, all while being a wife, mother of 5, business owner, civic leader, athlete, huntress of the frontier, politician...

Who does that sound like?

You, in many ways.

My wife, in many ways.

Most middle class working women, in many ways.

Is Sarah presidential material?

Let me put it this way, she has the potential.

Something you pointed out about her in previous discussions was her "whining" about her and her family's treatment by the MSM.

Her and her family were treated abominably! The media bias was so obvious! She got racked over the coals by the "progressive" hypocrites in the MSM. I watched how they "portrayed" her in the Gibson and Couric interviews and they stacked the deck against her from the get-go, including camera angles and editing.

The hypocrites in the MSM are the sexists, and they're just mirroring their true feelings about women and they're publicly demonstrating their sexism with their treatment of Sarah Palin.

As a conservative woman, I disagree.. Not entirely but mostly.. first off I am not sure Palin is a good fit, no I would not vote for her at this time, I do not believe she is bright enough to be president and I don't believe she has the right stuff to get this country back on track.

That said I would love a female president but better I would prefer a president that is conservative and not dividing, I would prefer a president unafraid of polls or the enemy (or unafraid of IDENTIFYing the enemy).

Also AS a woman in politics, she will come under fire and that is ok, YES family should be off limits but most times are not, yes Obama is treated differently but Chelsea was not off limits.. As a woman in the limelight she will be under fire.

She has alot of learning to do, refining to do and experence to get before I would be willing to be proud to call her president.
