While troops deployed abroad might be giving more money to Barack Obama, a poll released today says that John McCain will get the vast majority of votes from members of the military and veterans.
According to Gallup, McCain leads Obama 56 percent to 34 percent, with 11 percent expressing no opinion or picking someone else.
Obama spoke to the Veterans of Foreign Wars today in Florida, a day after McCain addressed the gathering.
Gallup said the poll is based on aggregated data from its daily tracking poll between Aug. 5 and Aug. 17, involving more than 11,000 registered voters, including 2,238 military veterans. Veterans are defined as those who are or have been members of the US military. Obama led McCain 46% to 43% among all registered voters during the period.
The military vote could be a difference maker in several traditionally Republican states where Obama is trying to pull off upsets, including North Carolina and Virginia.
And McCain would seem to have the edge because veterans tend to be Republican and because of his experience as a decorated Vietnam War veteran and prisoner of war. Obama did not serve in the military.
In its final pre-election poll in 2004, Gallup said that 60 percent of likely voters who had served in the military backed President Bush, compared with 40 percent who supported Democrat John F. Kerry. Gallup said: “It is notable, then, that McCain is doing only about as well among military veterans as Bush did in 2004, despite the two Republican candidates’ varying military backgrounds. (Bush was in the Texas Air National Guard, but did not serve overseas.)”

Damn I have never met a Vet . Marine like my self that likes Oboma or anyone that understands basic Economics #101.
Much less that pays real taxes or has a real Job .
Here in VA our Property Tax has doubled plus 20 % in the last 6 years and the State is in the RED 2 Billion dollars and growing daily .
So what does our far left Gov. Tim Kaine do to fix it ?Of course he added more Welfare and Government Programs …of course .
If Oboma picks Kaine he will still lose VA and we have a Conservative Lt Governor that replaces him .
Forget what you see in the media .Oboma is strong with Blacks and Nothern VA were the Foreigns live . Northern VA is sadly become Mexico/India /Pakistan /Iran/ Jamaica /China / Asia /Boston Mass very Liberal South damn it !

This came up on another great blog that I visit:
This ain’t Hell – Military Overwhelmingly Support McCain
It seems that the IVAW supports Obama, but they’re leftists.
There’s good reason most military members would choose McCain over Obama. They want somebody who has a clue as the CiC!

When it comes to Broken Obama, he really does not have any idea how to respect the veterans. When he was on his press tour to do some press opportunities in Europe, he was scheduled to visit Veterans. He thought – oh, what a bore – and returned to his luxury hotel to work out at the gym. He could care less about veterans. Broken Obama has totally hated the military by saying they were too inept to find Bin Laden – I think the military has done a good job of finding so many of the top terrorists and making America more safe. The military is to be thought. Broken Obama thinks its like a good guy-bad guy movie where there is only one bad guy in the world. He fails to realize there are numerous areas which are difficult. Broken Obama is not GOD – he cannot make everyone love America – and he and his wife till he got the nomination, were not proud to be Americans. So sad – a Harvard lawyer type who fails to visit Veterans, fails to fund the military, and fails to be a proud American is an issue His close relations with felons and radicals is well known – and may in fact – be that he is in bed with some unsavory types already.
One should be afraid of this candidate.

Sally,
Thanks for your comment! I agree with you 100%. An Obama Presidency would not bode well for our Armed Forces as he has no clue on CiC duties. He’s a leftist, radical socialist and they loathe the military and have displayed this attitude since the Vietnam War, but they hold it closer to the cuff nowadays.
John McCain served with honor and we all know of his sacrifice for our country. As a veteran myself, it’s a no brainer that McCain would make a good CiC and put “Country First”!
Thanks again for the comment Sally! Please join in with us some more!
