Instead of Euro countries lowering their energy taxes and increasing production, they seek to limit our energy consumption through measures which smack of socialism and world governance.

...and unfortunately, we have a President who is all too willing to accomodate the Europeans!

Economies need affordable, even cheap, energy in order to grow and expand. This is one of the simple tenets of economics. Taxing and regulating energy production drives up the costs of business, government, and, thus, living.

The only way to lower costs is by increasing energy production, and allowing markets to adjust to demand. Ever since the "oil for food" scandal, Europe has been looking to put limits on energy consumption here in America and, to a lesser extent, elsewhere. Instead of Euro countries lowering their energy taxes and increasing production, they seek to limit our energy consumption through measures which smack of socialism and world governance.
