This quote reminds me of the clip by Fred Thompson talking about the economy.

As parents, we can have no joy, knowing that this government is not sufficiently lasting to ensure any thing which we may bequeath to posterity: And by a plain method of argument, as we are running the next generation into debt, we ought to do the work of it, otherwise we use them meanly and pitifully. 		<description>NYC mandates what we must do upstate... it is their mandates which have caused our costs of government to go up and our manufacturing and other enterprises to leave the region, further accelerating the decline of our economy.

Now that the financial sector is having a rough time, NYC and Albany are feeling the pinch that they&#039;ve made us endure for decades. Still, their solution is to further oppress us with over a hundred new taxes, tax cap lifts and tax increases.

As Thomas Jefferson stated in the Declaration of Independence,

rudence, indeed, will dictate that Governments long established should not be changed for light and  transient causes; and accordingly all experience hath shewn, that mankind are more disposed to suffer, while evils are sufferable, than to right themselves by abolishing the forms to which they are accustomed. But when a long train of abuses and usurpations,  pursuing invariably the same Object evinces a design to reduce them under absolute Despotism, it is their right, it is their duty, to throw off such Government, and to provide new Guards for their future security.--Such has been the patient sufferance of these Colonies; and such is now the necessity which constrains them to alter their former Systems of Government. The history of the present King of Great Britain is a history of repeated injuries and usurpations, all having in direct object the establishment of an absolute Tyranny over these States.</description>

The wealth does not exist in Western New York to support the confiscatory taxes that we&#039;re burdened with. We need to nip this in the bud ASAP in order to make our region competitive with the rest of the nation. We have an educated and dedicated work force that&#039;s chomping at the bit to be tapped into once again. We&#039;re good and hardworking  people in Western New York and need the corrupt Albany government off of out butts!</description>
