Reporter Peter Iglinski of WXXI falsely reported the following about this past Tax Day Rochester Tea Party.
From: Tea Party Supporters Hold Tax Day Protest Behind the Federal Building in Rochester:
There were signs calling for lower taxes, spending cuts, and an end to the Federal Reserve; others questioned Barack Obama’s place of birth and likened the president to Adolf Hitler.
None of our speakers had any reference comparing Obama to Adolf Hitler! I didn’t see any signs that had that message on them either and the photos of signs that were forwarded to me that I posted to my report, did not have that message either. We specifically requested that people not bring signs like that.
We documented this years Tax Day Rochester Tea Party very well. You can review each of the speeches and many of the signs on my report of the event:
2010 Tax Day Rochester Tea Party
stlo7 of the RochesterTurning blog, parroted this in his post, “Tale of two News organizations”, a hit piece that compared the D&C’s positive editorial about the Rochester Tea Party Movement, “Tea Partiers want to take back control of their country” and WXXI’s Iglinski’s false report. stlo7 goes way over the top with this statement:
OK – so KKK friendly language wasn’t present but the D&C editorial board missed the Nazi stuff?
They didn’t miss it, stlo7, it didn’t happen and we have proof.
I tried to post a comment on RT, but stlo7 hasn’t approve it. I’ll post it here:

April 18, 2010 at 11:08 amMy first post ever to RT. I had to answer to this accusation:
Meanwhile WXXI sent someone and they write.
Several hundred people spent their lunch hour behind the federal building. There were signs calling for lower taxes, spending cuts, and an end to the Federal Reserve; others questioned Barack Obama’s place of birth and likened the president to Adolf Hitler.
The reporter from WXXI must have imagined the Hitler comparision because it didn’t happen. The entire Tea party is documented on RochesterConservative.com:
2010 Tax Day Rochester Tea Party
Every speech was recorded and posted in my report and pics of a good many of the signs are also posted and there’s not a single reference to Hitler.
Oh, BTW, I hereby invoke Godwins Law, invalidating this entire post, stlo7!

Just kidding, but not really. Your stereotyping the Rochester Tea Party Movement as racist, redneck simpletons is getting real old and it’s a lie.

Don’t you know Rv that this is the beginning of the 2010 mid-term elections? This is what they have to offer. How else are they going to get their supporters to come out and vote? They have to cry racism, anger, right-wing crazies. Blah, blah, blah…
Can they brag about the success of the stimulus? Nope. Can they say they won’t raise taxes on the middle class to pay for health care bill? Nope. Can they brag about taking control of 1/6th of the economy? Nope. Can they brag about all the jobs they’ve produced? Nope.
So what do they have left? Racism. But you know, it’s getting really old. They can only play that card for so long. It’s like the boy who cried wolf.
What did you expect from that lame website anyway? They must have run out of breast feeding stories to write about. Or they had to take up some space to avoid writing about “Tickle me Massa” again.
November is coming and they all know it.

We need to call on this reporter to prove with video that his claims are true. Otherwise, he needs to be forced to retract and apologize to the people he has insulted. He makes me sick. It isn’t even a case of left hating right anymore… it’s a case of perpetual voluntary ignorance. I know there are only 3.5 people who heard him say this, but he needs to be made an example of by US.

Here is my message to WXXI with reference to Mr. Iglinski’s reporting:
Peter needs to get his facts straight. AT NO TIME was their any poster, banner, or verbal reference to BHO as Hitler. There may have been the classic “Joker” image. I understand that WXXI does get a lot of Federal money and that’s it’s leanings have been traditionally to the left. But reporting the TRUTH is the one paramount duty of an ethical journalist. Maybe you should give Mr. Iglinski a broom/mop and have him perform a duty that he is better suited.

Those violent, hateful Tea Partiers! Just read these accounts, “Officers in riot gear from the Los Angeles Police Department fired rubber bullets and used tear gas to disperse a “crowd of hundreds” gathered at a local park for a previously peaceful May Day immigration rally tonight.” Uh, sorry this is the dems and the left.
Well how about this one! “Anti-G20 protesters rampaged through the city centre of Pittsburgh tonight, smashing up shops and throwing rocks at police, as officers used tear gas and baton-charges in an attempt to bring them under control.
In riots which continued through evening rush hour, about 300 protesters were reported to have remained from an initial crowd of 2,000 in Bloomfield, Pittsburgh’s Little Italy.” Oh, wait my mistake again, this is also the left. Hmmm
But this MUST be about the violent, hate-filled Tea Party! “BERKELEY, Calif. (AP) — Anger over increasing tuition and school budget cuts boiled over as students across the country staged rowdy demonstrations that led to clashes with police and the rush-hour shutdown of a major freeway in California.
Students, teachers, parents and school employees rallied and marched Thursday at college campuses, public parks and government buildings in several U.S. cities what was called the March 4 Day of Action to Defend Public Education.” Opps, guess not.
Ok this will clinch it! Obama as Hitler ect…http://www.zombietime.com/zomblog/?p=612
Darn, I can’t find even ONE Tea Party that had violence or hate. Hmmm, maybe the “reporter” was wrong.
LOL

Iggymom, that was very insightful. Guess they forgot all those signs with Bush as Hitler. Or better yet, a movie documenting the supposed “death” of Bush. Or, the noose around his neck. What did we hear then…crickets.
I took many photos of the rally and not one has a Hitler sign.
Good idea Rob. I’m sending mine now.
